Music Matters! – Benefit Concert

Music Matters!

As some may know, I was a foster kid from age 10 – 18 … the first 10 years of my life were quite traumatic. Music was how I processed my emotions, I sang in choir everyday from age 10 on and it made all the difference. Kept me focused in school, united my energy in song with my classmates … it was better than any therapist I was sent to.

Since the day I graduated high school and became a ‘successful’ adult, I have had a dream of being able to give back. This project is a DREAM COME TRUE!!! And I don’t dream small … this performance was legendary!

Over 80 people joined in song and dance, in support of an amazing cause … to raise the astonishingly low 45% high school graduation rate of foster kids, and bring my dream to reality. We donated over $800 to Treehouse for local foster kids.

A huge heartfelt thanks goes to Geoffrey Castle for being such a spectacular musician and a powerful stand for youth to have musical expression in their lives … not just by supporting this concert, he travels to high schools around the US for special assemblies. Yep, he’s that kindof wonderful too.

Can’t encourage you enough to watch this video to see how much of a difference the special folks at Treehouse make for local foster kids:

This event was hosted by the loving members of my Family Covenant Circle at East Shore Unitarian Church and it is through community that 100% of the proceeds went to support foster kids having access to musical expression!

I would also like to thank the Landmark Self Expression and Leadership Program for providing me the tools and support to create this concert. It is through my participation at Landmark that I have redefined what is possible in my life!!!

All Mentoring Matters

All Mentoring Matters uses the latest technologies that deliver quality content, powerful leadership, and community to your computer/phone anywhere in the world you may be. Experts mentor people on subjects they are passionate about and form communities, all over the planet, via online technology, while earning a prosperous living!

All Mentoring Matters Pilot Mentorship – Rock Your Tools in partnership with Mike Allton of The Social Media Hat and Ronnie Bincer as The Hangout Helper. This mentorship had both personal and professional elements that were intended to help participants gain power and more presence in social media, give them guru status on Google+ (should they want it), empower them to reclaim their life on Facebook, strengthen their LinkedIn resume, give them a solid awareness of privacy settings, teach them HOW to get their message out via quality content by crafting powerful shares across platforms like G+, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Pinterest, etc. and introduce them to tools to foster business and/or deepen their social connections. The mentorship was intended to transform each mentee’s life and enrich their social relationships in ways yet imagined! And the best part… all activities were done via community and at their own convenience.

The Find Your Voice Mentorship was created to walk a group of individuals, artists, small business owners, through the process of crafting a Social Media Plan that speaks to their brand. It will bring their vision statement to their online presence and give them daily actionable steps. Throughout the program they will learn and practice creating quality content, developing relevancy in search results, becoming a trusted authority (author rank), and forming powerful social relationships. The plan will clarify their message, outline a weekly calendar of shares, automate broadcasts as needed, offer custom made templates, and provide simple checklists to ensure all relevant platforms are covered. Again, done via community and at their own convenience.

The Socialize Your Business Mentorship was made into a combination of the Rock Your Tools and Find Your Voice Mentorships, where the mentorship team custom tailors a program for your business and operates in a community made of only your business personnel. By the end of the program individual members of the company will share the social media vision and powerfully represent your brand online. The community will remain with the company as a resource that can be revisited and for new employees to engage in self study and/or be mentored from within.

All Mentoring Matters is now … Mastermind Mentorships

Intentional Planner

Bringing Intentions to Life

In order to powerfully create the life I desire, I crafted a planner as a tool for Intentional Living. In the world where my time commitments quite conveniently exist in the electronic ether, I discovered I needed a sacred space:

  • to express that which I desired to manifest in my life
  • to document the significant occurrences, triumphs, losses
  • to mark dates that I wanted to celebrate and/or remember,
  • and to keep a record of the journey one intentional year of life can create.

In 2013 I combined my passion for ‘jen’uinely capturing the beauty of the world in photographs and sharing the image with thought provoking quotes into an Intentional Planner. I offered it to others as a resource to empower what they are out to create in this world and put it to use in my own life. The results were ASTOUNDING! The 2014 version (see link below) caught the attention of publishers and launched intentions to life around the world, and during 2015 it has been going through a transformation to give it more power.

The Intentional Living! Facebook Community is thriving. Within that community we are transforming the conversation on social media from people commenting on our past, to a resource that empowers others to contribute to our future. Through sharing our intentions and being intentional with how we engage on social networks, we create a structure for accountability and an opportunity for people to bring our intentions to life.

Will you play with us?

It’s simple … join the Facebook Closed Group, invite 5 to 10 of your friends and family to do the same, share your intentions to the group! Others in the group will support you and your friends and family will be listening for your greatness. The Secret to having your intentions fulfilled lives in declaration, in knowing that it exists outside of your mind, and is present in your life! Then when you achieve your intention, or not … celebrate it, by sharing that too!

The revolutionized next version is in development with Balboa Press, a Division of Hay House and is now branded as Lunar Intentions. In addition to being a journal for your intentions, it will walk you through creating your intentions and ways of being, in sync with the lunar cycle, and other celestial influences to amplify your ability to create your world. Crafting one’s intentions with the cosmos at your back and sharing them within community, give your intentions WINGS to soar!

My future plans include turning the planner into an application that empowers individuals to stay present to celestial influences, electronically craft their intentions, include their own media enrichment’s, publish them to social media to expand their power through the listening of others, track their results, and at year’s end allow them to self-publish their creations into a beautiful keepsake book.

On the Hunt

What a Photo Safari Is …

I get this question quite a lot. In my world, and I would suspect in other nature photographer’s too, there are times when we go on the HUNT for photos. Sometimes they start with a desired outcome, not to imply we get it, and others we select a location to explore. This weekend … I went on a Jenuine Photo Safari and I am excited to share!

This safari for the vast majority did NOT go as planned. I created the opportunity to leave out Friday morning, to camp for two nights, and instead I got REALLY sick … literally could not get out of bed Friday and the weather all over the state forecasted rain. So what started out as a multiple day adventure, turned into a day trip!

Rather than fight the rain, I chose to embrace it and created the possibility of raindrops on wildflowers … sweeeeeeet! Only to get to the top of Mt. Rainier to find mostly sunny skies and NO wildflowers … no joke! Wildflowers will be popping in two weeks … DOH! Not to be thwarted, I stalked many early bloomers, along the side of the road … much to the amusement of tourist passerby’s, and considered the day a success.

When the clouds overtook the mountain at Sunrise, I danced in the rain!!! Shortly later, I hopped back in Grace (my Subi) and headed home off the mountain. When at the edge of the park, darkness nearly upon the mountain, I spotted a waterfall along side the road and BAM … inspiration hit. In no less than 100 ft of tarmac it dawned on me, those filters I had been thinking I needed to step down the light for the slow shutter speeds necessary for flowy water … didn’t apply in the DARK!!! This is the point when the adventure began, I stopped, whipped Grace around, and directed her headlights upon the water. To make even more of spectacle of myself, it turned out my hand-me-down tripod wouldn’t allow me to get close enough to the grass … what did Jen do? Why use my daughter’s booster seat of course. My mentor told me to use a bean bag and I figured a padded seat counted … right Ron?

Well, the end result is in the gallery below. And, for the perfect ending to another amazing Jenuine Photo Safari … as I descended the rain landed on all the campers, I left it behind as I passed through Enumclaw and got to sleep in my cozy bed for the night.
